Accdon (LetPub) will be well-represented at the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) 41st Annual Meeting from May 29–31, 2019, in San Diego, CA. Our Publishing Innovation Lead, Dr. Clark Holdsworth, will be speaking as part of a panel of industry leaders presenting at the concurrent session entitled, “Exploring new journal communication formats: insight and experiences from the launch of new offerings.”
The development of new communication formats is requisite for sharing scientific discoveries with diverse audiences. Our mission is to develop novel multimodal research communication services—including video and graphical abstracts, podcasts, and custom animations—to provide a common medium for sharing scientific breakthroughs among investigators, funders, legislative bodies, and the general public.
We wish to assist authors, journals and society publishers in their efforts to launch and explore multimodal research communication offerings through this SSP session. Several accomplished industry experts will discuss the challenges of producing engaging multimodal content, provide actionable solutions for the audience, and highlight the importance of these services related to author education and scientific outreach and engagement. Within the digital age, it is imperative for scholarly publishing to embrace interactivity and remain on the leading edge of multimedia publishing trends.
Joe Puskarz, Director of Journal Publishing at the American Academy of Pediatrics, Randy Townsend, Senior Journal Program Manager of the American Geophysical Union, and Dr. Trina Arpin, Deputy Managing Editor at Cell Press, as well as Accdon’s Dr. Clark Holdsworth, will share their personal experiences with novel communication initiatives and various multimedia projects in this new age of scholarly publishing.
Accdon (LetPub) welcomes authors, publishers, journals, service providers, and professional and scientific society staff to explore multimodal research communication opportunities at SSP in May.
